Disney World and The Villages

On Sunday, the Magic Kingdom was ours for a day. We had an absolute blast!
I only had my phone to take pictures with, but Jeff had the Flip so we got some great video. Unfortunately, the quality of the pics is not so great, but I think the joy comes through pretty well.
Brad and I about to take off with Dumbo...
The only ride we really had to wait a long time for was Pooh. We all decided it hadn't really been worth it.
Bryant's Goofy hat is self-explanatory.
Since he was too small to ride Test Track at Epcot, Jeff and I did the parent swap (a really cool thing, by the way.) While he took B&B on the ride, Bryant and I hung out with the crash test dummies.
On Tuesday we swung by Downtown Disney before heading to the Villages. Lego Land is the coolest.

Buzz was harder to distract than the London Guard...
We arrived at Mimi and Poppa G's on Tuesday afternoon and the time has flown ever since. Lots of time spent at the pool and riding golf carts.

Yesterday I saw these two cute lizards sitting out by the front porch. They looked so sweet sitting there together. I didn't realize until later that I had captured a moment meant to be kept private. I don't think they appreciated the intrusion.
Last night we had dinner at Nancy Lopez. The scenery is so much more beautiful than these pictures depict, but we got some sweet ones anyway.

After dinner, it was dancing on the square. Poppa G and Bailey had some great moves. I couldn't help flashing forward to the future watching them dance. So sweet!
Good times had by all. Only two days left, so we better get going. The pool is calling.

Don't you just love summer? :)

Brad and SOW Band

I realize my posts have been Brad-centric lately, but he's just had a ton of stuff going on. I had to post this of his band practice yesterday. This is also through School of Worship, and I think it's so cool. I love that he is learning how to do this now - only God knows what He plans to use this for and I can't wait to see!

Brad's 4th Quarter Project

For Brad's last project this year he was to choose anything he wanted from Tennessee history. It was to take a minimum of 15 hours, and he had to keep a log that documented the amount of time he spent and how.

He ended up choosing to research the Tennessee State Capitol Building. We went on a tour and he spent time researching its history. For the visual element, we decided to make a model of the building. I had to run that by Dad first, because I knew that if anyone was qualified to help with this kind of project, he was definitely our first choice.

It ended up taking them close to 27 hours, but the value of that time together was more than worth it. Brad learned how to make a plan, figure out all kinds of crazy mathematical equations (I heard Dad was teaching him Pythagorean theorem one day), persevere to complete a project, even when it gets tedious, and that hard work really does pay off. The finished product was absolutely amazing, and the time he spent working with Granddaddy will never be forgotten.

This ended up being far more than a school project. It became a memory.

Thanks, Granddaddy. :)
