I just got these pictures in from Dad and had to share. This weekend we had a family reunion. It was the first time we had ever done this with the Reid side of the family, and we all left wondering why. I haven't seen my dad's sister's side of the family since my uncle died several years ago, and before that I think it was my granddaddy's funeral. It's not that they live that far away or anything. For some reason we just haven't gotten together. I'm hoping this is going to change from now on. We all said this needs to be an annual thing. Kudos to my cousin Michelle who apparently suggested it. Of course it would come from the youngest of the bunch!

This is what it looks like when you try to stage a picture with nine kids who have been outside at the park for three hours. (That's actually me holding Bryant up back there. He wanted NOTHING to do with this little photo session!)

Dad (middle), Aunt Linda (baby) and Uncle Lowell (firstborn.) Can you tell they're related?

Now, interestingly enough, we were also able to take a family picture with my mom's side of the family. You see, my dad's older brother is married to my mom's older sister. (Think it through for a minute and you'll realize it's perfectly legit.) Because of this, my first cousins are actually my double first cousins. Since there aren't any other siblings, this is the entire Sites family legacy. My grandparents are living with Mom and Dad right now, so we were actually able to have a double family reunion.

It's bizarre to think that a little couple who hooked up in Illinois would eventually share all these great grandkids with a little couple from Alabama. Hope Grandmother and Granddaddy Reid were able to smile down on us Saturday. One day, we'll all be together again. That will be one heckuva family reunion! :)
