"Mom, I have to tell you what happened today."
"Oh, really? What happened?"
"We broke up."
"You did? How did that happen?" (At this point I'm totally picturing her singing "Gotta Go My Own Way," from HSM 2, since it's her favorite on the soundtrack.)
"I broke up with him. I told him I didn't want to be his girlfriend anymore."
"What did he say?"
"He punched me."
I wish I could say I didn't laugh. Think we should seek expulsion for sexual harassment?

Go Bailey!! Love 'em and leave 'em... (hmmm... sounds like another young, flirtatious blond I knew once upon a time??) :-)
Bailey - my advice to you is this... break up over the phone or email. It's less painful for you. Or at least, make sure there is a teacher/parent in the room next time! Love you sweet girl!!
Okay, that's too funny... She's a heartbreaker already (following mom's footsteps?). I gotta know, were her feelings hurt or was she mad he punched her?
If she'd known how to tell him to "talk to the hand," I think that's exactly the attitude she'd have taken.
You know, it's funny when she's in Kindergarten. But if this happens a few years down the road, her daddy could end up in prison.
I've never hit a girl. But I had a girl hit me once. It hurt. But I don't talk about it.
OK, first of all don't pass out that I finally figured out how to do this, but I just want to know how in the world she knew what a break up was? :-)
